I agree, many hours of frustration could be saved if there was a
general overview of how the code worked.  Tracing through code and
trying to keep the big picture in your head when you are new to a
project sucks.

I made a similar request for documentation 2 years ago.  In this
request, I also included some notes I had taken for myself when I
started looking at the code.  They aren't well organized, but they may
