One of the useful methods to test robots on a fast machine is to change etc/sysdef REALITY from 10 (the default) to 100. This lets the robots fight it out in a universe that runs at ten times the normal speed. Beware, don't play in a universe with a REALITY other than 10, or your reaction times are retrained for that universe, and you become less useful in the standard universe. Setting REALITY to 1 makes things ten times slower. This can be useful to test border cases. Taking a cambot recording of the test lets you go back and verify that things worked as you planned. -- James Cameron mailto:quozl at us.netrek.org http://quozl.netrek.org/
