One thing you will likely find, is that the type of people who would
enjoy a game such as Netrek, are likely the type of people that have
put in a fair amount of effort to obtain high speed access of some
sort to either their home or work. The only exception here is remote
areas of residence, or cities that are not considered to be large
enough to fund high speed infrastructure building efforts.

People who don't have computers by now, for example, would likely not
really care for Netrek. The real world is much more interesting to
them. :-)
