Convenient for now, but it seems to me that in the case of a net split this would be wrong. Just because a server and the metaserver can't talk to each other doesn't mean I can't talk to both. I guess the client code to hit multiple metaservers will even this out if we have multiple metaservers on different nets. That requires moving a metaserver, I think...
