I've actually been doing all my primary server development under OSX for 3 or 4 years now. I've only glanced at your messages so far, but you seem to have run into a lot more problems than I have in the past. I think I merged my very minor changes in a long time ago. I do have a lot of stuff from fink installed which may explain some of the difference. I'll go through the rest of your patches and such when I have a moment and try to see why it's seemingly required more effort on your part to get things working.
